　　Im grateful for the opportunity to work for you and I enjoy doing so. I hope youll agree that, in the two years Ive worked for you, Ive become an integral member of your team and accomplished a great deal. For example, in the last six months alone, Ive List of major accomplishments。

　　However, Im still working for the initial salary on which we agreed two years ago. As I recall, we also agreed to renegotiate my salary in two years based on my accomplishments, and that time has come. In light of my accomplishments and as per our agreement, Im respectfully requesting an immediate pay rise of six percent, to be followed in six months by a performance-based pay rise of an additional three percent. I strongly feel that Ive earned the immediate pay raise and Im confident that I will also earn the six-month raise based on my performance. But Im willing to negotiate, as per our agreement. If you would like to meet to discuss this, please let me know.

　　I hereby apply for promotion,for the reasons outlined below.

　　1.I like money.Lets face it,when it all comes down to it,who gives a shit about recognition.You cant buy beers at the pub with it,and it hasnt got a resale value.

　　2.I can USE the extra cash.I have a definite purpose for the money.Ill spend it.And Ill probably spend it at a place that employs students to do menial and degrading tasks,thereby filtering my extra income back into the Univeristys coffers - YOU CANT LOSE!

　　3.Ive never asked before.A lot of the bastards who apply for promotion are the talentless civil servant types who do nothing for a year,then apply for promotion.Im different.Im the sort of talentless civil servant bastard thats done nothing for 7 years and wants a promotion.The logic of this arguement is undeniable.

　　4.Everyone else is getting some.If theres free money around,and other people are getting some,it stands to reason I want my share.

　　5.Other people dont deserve it.Give me a list of their names.Within 2 weeks I can find,research or fabricate evidence as to why they dont deserve a decent raise,or,alternatively,be dismissed.

　　6.Im leaving soon.Ill be leaving soon,so this is a good time to pay me off so I leave in good spirits and not with every piece of portable equipment I can lay my hands on late at night.

　　To be honest, this promotion came as quite a surprise. Id like to think its mainly a recognition of the teamwork, above and beyond the call of duty, in my department. On that same note, Id like to thank all my colleagues in the company for their enthusiasm and hard work. Due to their efforts, weve really gotten some overseas projects off the ground for Action.
